Background:

Five Oaks Centre is seeking a dedicated individual for a contracted position (2 years) to collaborate with the Executive Director in leading the development and implementation of a future capital campaign strategy and donor development initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging potential donors, crafting compelling grant proposals, and fostering relationships with foundations and corporations to secure support. Additionally, you will play a key role in encouraging existing donors to renew their support. The ideal candidate will have several years of fundraising experience and a strong passion for advancing our mission.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

· Partner closely with the Executive Director to devise and execute a dynamic Annual Giving program aimed at fostering growth and delivering an exceptional donor experience.

· Direct and oversee the planning and execution of a significant Major Capital Campaign aimed at securing essential funds for strategic projects and initiatives.

· Formulate and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies encompassing donor cultivation, solicitation, retention, social media campaigns, and event planning.

· Craft compelling communications to bolster donor retention and drive donation growth.

· Facilitate fundraising endeavors that cultivate strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

· Provide support in grant-writing, including research and proposal development.

· Develop persuasive funding proposals tailored to donors’ values and aligned with Five Oaks’ priorities.

· Utilize the donor database effectively to enhance giving through targeted communication strategies, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and analyzing data to inform fundraising strategies.

· Identify and recommend new fundraising opportunities to diversify revenue streams.

· Collaborate with internal staff, members, intercultural organizations, and community partners to achieve mutual goals.

· Stay abreast of the latest fundraising and development best practices through continuous research and learning.

· Undertake any other duties necessary to bolster the success of Five Oaks’ development efforts.

Specific Outcomes:

· Lead the design and implementation of a Major Capital Campaign (year 2).

· Achieve measurable increases in annual giving.

· Expand the organization’s membership base and contacts.

· Contribute to multiple successful grant applications for capital, operational, and programmatic initiatives.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in fundraising, or any related field
Minimum of three years of experience and demonstrated success in fund development and communications in the charitable sector, leading and executing fundraising campaigns that deliver growth, with direct marketing, story-telling, and excellent donor development experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Excellent planning, organizational, collaboration, resiliency, and time management skills.
Ability to handle confidential materials and situations with professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion.
Self-directed with high capacity to manage multiple priorities and timelines, with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.
Competency in Microsoft Office and strong aptitude and proven experience in fundraising systems.

Accountability

The Donor Development, Grants, and Gifts Coordinator reports to and is directly supervised by the Executive Director, and in their absence, the General Manager. The relationship between staff and Board of Directors is founded on a basis of honesty and mutual respect. It is understood that the Donor Development, Grants, and Gifts Coordinator and management team are there to support and uphold the mission of Five Oaks Centre, and in this regard, are working together toward the same goal. A vulnerable sector records check will be required.

Background Check

This offer is conditional upon the results of a vulnerable sector police records search to be provided by you, which must be satisfactory to Five Oaks in its sole discretion.

Hours of Work

The position entails an average of 20 hours per week throughout the year, although the distribution may vary weekly. Additional hours may be negotiated as needed, particularly in relation to fundraising activities. Office hours primarily fall between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, with flexibility required to accommodate business demands, including one weekend shift per month as scheduled. While some hybrid work arrangements can be discussed, they are not the standard practice.

This position is a two-year contract position, with an opportunity for extension and growth of hours dependent on achievements and deliverables.
