GROWE Camps, Programs & Outdoor Schools

Grand River Outdoor Wilderness Education (GROWE) offers interpretive hikes and nature themed programs to schools, groups, families, corporate groups, and individuals , all at Five Oaks. They can cater to any desired program duration from 2.5 hours to multiple day excursions. Participants will learn plant, tree, and bird identification while hiking the Carolinian Forest surrounding the heritage Grand River. The variety of programs range from Winter Survival, Night Safari, Wild Teas, and Nature’s Connection. GROWE also facilitates outdoor school, school break and summer camps for youth at Five Oaks.

Tara Carpenter has had a love of nature and the outdoors from an early age, thanks to growing up on a Norfolk County farm and regularly engaging in wilderness camping trips with her family as a child. Travelling many parts of the world for 17 years expanded Tara’s knowledge of the natural world and her love for this earth, we call home.
