Have you been following the Five Oaks renovation news? Our last full refresh was in the late 1990s when all common areas and bedrooms in the Main Building were transformed. Your communities of faith were part of that upgrade. Over the years, our guests have so appreciated your contribution to our ministry of hospitality. With the attention of staff and care of our guests, they have lasted well.

The Upper Room, New Hall, all hallways and stairwells have been transformed. The carpets have been replaced and paint freshened up. The Upper Room is now energy efficient with the addition of insulation in the walls and ceiling, added ceiling fans for circulation and LED lighting. Bright freshly painted walls and added accent beams ensure that the room feels like home. New furniture and some cherished pieces ensure that the space is comfortable and inviting. The artwork inspires imagination and conversation as we live into the interfaith/intercultural vision.

The New Hall has added commercial vinyl flooring, fresh paint and new blinds. 100 gently used stacking chairs have been purchased, that are comfortable and clean. Soon to come will be an upgraded accent wall with storage and a modern twist.

After 20 years, it is now time for upgrades and replacements to the Main Building bedrooms and bathrooms. Bedroom B9 has been updated as our model suite and after much feedback the final design is ready. As part of our commitment to the environment, we will be looking for antique or teak dressers and desks to reuse in the spaces. We are inviting communities of faith and individuals to consider sponsoring or co-sponsoring a bedroom once again. The total expenditure per room is approximately $4,200.00, which includes partial support of bathroom upgrades.
