Responsibilities

Under the supervision and direction of the Hospitality Coordinator and Fundraising Coordinator, the Summer Operations and Site Support Staff will work alongside the centre staff in all aspects of operations, including: donour development management, direct support of the Migrant Worker Care program, assisting with office tasks, and general site operations. The student will gain experience working with diverse groups of people.

  • Comfort supporting guests in COVID quarantine care.
  • Media and promotion skills
  • Comfort using software systems for information management

  • Volunteer experience & experience coordinating events and festivals
  • Experience being in leadership position
  • Capacity to work positively with diverse groups is a requirement.

Accountability

The Summer Operations and Site Support Staff reports to and is directly supervised by the Hospitality Coordinator and Fundraising Coordinator, and in their absence the Executive Director. The relationship between staff and Board is founded on a basis of honesty and mutual respect. It is understood that the staff and management team are there to support and uphold the mission of Five Oaks Education and Retreat Centre, and in this regard, are working together toward the same goal.

This offer is conditional upon the results of a vulnerable sector police records search to be provided by you, which must be satisfactory to Five Oaks in its sole discretion.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the Canada Summer Jobs age requirement at the start of the employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Experience working outdoors
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Programs
