Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Five Oaks seeks Seasonal Housekeepers to support the important work of supporting seasonal workers living onsite from July to November 2021. There is potential for a longer-term contract ongoing based on business demands. Hours per week range from 20-25 hours per week, including some weekends.

Work with the Lead Housekeeping and other housekeepers to ensure and the entire Centre is clean and presentable for all visitors and group. Duties include, cleaning bathrooms, flipping bedrooms, dusting, vacuuming, setting out bed sheets and towels, meeting room set up and other housekeeping duties as assigned. Assist other housekeepers where needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To assist the housekeeping team to keep all the Centre’s buildings, clean and tidy at all times, including for long term occupants. These include but are not limited to: Main Building, Retreat Houses, Chalet, Hermitage, Summer Centre, washrooms, and cabins.
  • Clean, tidy up and vacuum rooms for arrival of guests and when they leave prepare rooms for the next guests.
  • Make sure that sufficient clean bed linens and towels are set out in each guest room.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary bathrooms, with sufficient paper towels and soap.
  • Empty garbage from all waste receptacles in bathrooms and bedrooms.
  • Undertake major cleaning projects including washing windows, walls, blinds, bedding, thoroughly cleaning rooms etc. when schedule and time permit as directed by the Lead Housekeeper.
  • Clean dining room as able after meals, especially lunch, plus coffee breaks/snacks when not done by The Kitchen.
  • Set up meeting space to the specifications of guests including moving stacking chairs and tables. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to set up technological needs of guests.
  • Report any damages, needed repairs, concerns regarding state of facilities, or suggestions for improvement to the Lead Housekeeper.
